Top Two Positions Shared by Male and Female Candidates in FBISE Matric Examination

Islamabad: A boy and a girl shared top position in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examination 2013 held under the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), Islamabad.
According to the result announced on Thursday, Abdul Wasay Ikhlaq, son of Ikhlaq Hussain, a student of the Federal Government Boys Public High School, Wah Cantonment, (Science Group), (Roll No. 110294), and Rehmeen Zahid, daughter of Zahid Pervez, (Roll No. 150774) of the Rangers Public School, Khanpur District, Rahimyar Khan, of (Science Group), obtained 1026 marks out of the total 1050 to clinch top position in this years SSC annual examination.
A boy and a girl also shared second position. Both of them belonged to the Science Group. Muhammad Umar Arshad, son of Arshad Mahmud, a student of the Army Public School and College for Boys, Ordnance Road, Rawalpindi Cantonment, Roll No. 118183, and Noor Khalid, daughter of Dr. Khalid Rashid Sheikh, a student of the Army Public School and College, 208-Humayun Road, Rawalpindi Cantonment, Roll No. 152394, obtained 1025 marks.
Two female students shared the overall third position. Sana Riaz, daughter of Muhammad Riaz, Roll No. 152208, a student of the Fazaia Inter College, Chaklala, Rawalpindi Cantonment, and Tooba Anwaar, daughter of Muhammad Anwar ul Haq Awan, a student of the Army Public School and College, Kohat Cantonment, Roll No. 162189, got 1024 marks and bagged third position.
The result was announced by Minister of State for Education, Trainings and Standards in Higher Education Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman in the Conference Hall of FBISE, Islamabad. PML-N MNA Malik Abrar and education officials were also present on the occasion.
In Humanities Group, male students outclassed girls by attaining first two positions. Muhammad Umair, son of Munsif, Roll No. 175034, a student of the Institute of Islamic Sciences, Satra Meel, (FA), Islamabad, got 938 marks and clinched top position. Ubaid Riaz, son of Muhammad Riaz, a student of the same institution, Roll No. 175041, secured second position by getting 926 marks. Shareen Shafi, daughter of Muhammad Shafi Anjum, Roll No. 189528, a student of the Al-Amaal English High School, Sharjah, UAE, got third position in this group by obtaining 924 marks.
The Secondary School Certificate Annual Examination 2013 was held in March-April. In all, 51,833 regular students appeared out of which 46,543 passed, showing a passing percentage of 89.79. While 17,303 private and ex-students appeared in which 7,154 cleared the examination and their pass percentage remained 41.35. The overall pass percentage of both regular and private students was 77.67.
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Supplementary Examination 2013 would commence on September 3. According to the gazette notification, the result cards of candidates would be dispatched to their respective educational institutions and private candidates would receive these at their postal addresses.
