Minister of Education Mr. Saeed Ghani has announced that special exams will not be conducted this year in Sindh. This is really bad news for the students in Sindh who want to improve their marks or grades. A large number of pre-medical student re-appear in exams in the hopes to improve their marks and get admission in medical colleges in Pakistan.
Also, those who want to change their groups appear in exams for additional subjects. Pre-medical students who cannot get admission in medical colleges also appear for additional subject exams to change their group to pre-medical to be eligible for engineering university admissions. Sadly, the decision will affect a large number of pre-medical students only. However, a small number of pre-engineering and ICS and ICOM students also appear for improvement.
The minister also announced that 3% extra marks will be given to the students. Students of class 9 and class 11 will be promoted. While students of class 10 and class 12 will be passed based on their performance in class 9 and class 11 respectively.
It is also announced that this year exams fee will be utilized for the next exams and students will need not to submit the fee for next year exams. Students who had deposited fee for improvement exams may appear in the next year without any additional fee. But they will have to face the loss of one academic year.
