The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi is set to expand its presence beyond Sindh with the development of a new campus in Islamabad.
The foundation stone of the Islamabad campus was laid in DHA Islamabad Phase 5 under a partnership between IBA Karachi and DHA Islamabad-Rawalpindi.
The new campus is aimed at expanding access to quality higher education for students in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the northern regions of Pakistan.
The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by IBA Karachi Executive Director Dr. S. Akbar Zaidi, the administrator of DHA Islamabad, and representatives from the education sector.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Zaidi described the project as an important development for Pakistan's education sector. He said the campus would focus on academic excellence, research, human capital development and leadership training.
The proposed Islamabad campus will include a modern academic block, research facilities, a library and an auditorium. Plans also include sports facilities and residential accommodation for students.
According to IBA Karachi, the new campus will strengthen its focus on knowledge, research and practical learning while creating opportunities for partnerships with universities, institutions and industry.
The project is expected to develop into a major higher education centre serving students from the federal capital and surrounding regions.
