The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has extended holidays in educational institutions across the province in connection with the Corona virus prevention. According to the elementary and secondary education release, It has been decided to extend the holidays to educational institutions, under which public and private schools will be closed until April 5 to prevent the Corona virus.
Earlier, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education had decided to keep the school closed until March 31. It may be mentioned that after Corona cases have also been reported in Pakistan, Sindh Government announced vacations till May 30 in Sindh province to prevent the spread of the virus while Balochistan have announced the closure of educational institutions by March 31.
Corona virus has been confirmed in 78 people so far in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while 3 people died of the disease. State Health Ministry officials stated that majority of the patient tested positive are the visitors who came from Tafatan. According to data released by the Health Department, 53 patients have been diagnosed so far in Dera Ismail Khan, 12 in Peshawar, 6 in Mardan, 3 in Mansehra, one in Buner, Charsadda, South Waziristan and one in Kirk.
