NCOC meeting is called on Wednesday to decide about the conduct or cancellation of 9th and 1st year exams. The decision to promote class 9 and 1st year students to the next class without examination will be taken at the next NCOC meeting. As the fourth wave of corona has began to affect the lives of individuals in the country, NCOC meeting is called. Major decisions are expected in the meeting.
Although it is much likely that the 9th and 1st year exams will be cancelled, however, the final decision will be announced by the NCOC. The number or coronavirus cases is increasing in Sindh. Other provinces are also showing an increasing trend in the positivity ratio.
In this regard, it has been informed that the fear of the fourth wave of Corona affecting the children has increased. In view of Corona, the ninth and eleventh class examinations are also likely to be postponed. With the spread of corona virus, ninth and eleventh graders can be promoted to the next class without examination. Important decisions are likely to be taken at the next NCOC meeting.
The Government is also planning to extend the duration of summer vacations in Government schools. Summer vacations are likely to be extended till end of August. Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference will be held on July 28 to decide whether to extend the vacations till August 14 or 29.
