Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched a scholarship complaint Portal on thursday for students across the country. He said the primary objective of the portal is to establish an exclusive facility for students getting education on scholarship for their help and resolution of complaints. The Prime Minister said the portal will also ensure transparency and meritocracy in the scholarship process. A panel of academicians will monitor the portal and scholarships will be offered in new disciplines as per market demand, he stated.
Addressing the launching ceremony of the Scholarship Complaint Portal in Islamabad, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that students were facing difficulties as scholarships were discontinued after a few years. Imran Khan said that through scholarships we can improve the education system.
Imran Khan further mentioned the success of India is mainly due to its investment in higher education. A lot of money is spent on education in India. He said it is our duty to make the youth aware of the principles of the state of Madinah, we have to make our young generation aware of the high values of Islam. Prime Minister stated that the purpose of scholarships is youth. Addressing the ceremony, the premier said the complaints of students were ignored in the past and that they faced immense problems in pursuing their degrees. Minister for Federal Education Shafqat Mahmood said the government has invested a lot in the higher education sector and has increased the number of scholarships for postgraduate and undergraduate students. He said the government has established 28 new universities and allocated 123 billion rupees for higher education. Currently, 2.6 million students, including 72 percent women, are benefiting from these scholarships.
