Inter-provincial education conference was held online today for reopening of schools and colleges in the country. the conference was chaired by Federal Minister for Education, Mr. Shafqat Mahmood. All provincial ministers for education participated in the meeting. It was decided to reopen schools and colleges in the country from September 15.
The online conference was attended by the Ministers of Education, Secretaries of Schools and Higher Education Departments, and others from all the provinces. The main purpose of holding the conference was to consult with all the provinces on important issues related to education in the current situation
It was decided that if the situation improves, schools will be opened across the province from September 15, 2020. The conference considered all the issues related to the opening of educational institutions.
It is also pertinent to mention here that the School Education Department Punjab has completed work on SOPs for opening schools. As per SOPs assembly will not be held in schools. Only 3 subjects Mathematics, English, Science will be taught in the class. The homework for other subjects will be given only and there will be no class for these subjects. 20 children will be able to sit in one class.
Punjab Minister for School Education, Dr. Murad Raas said that all other news regarding the opening of the school is false and baseless. As long as students and teachers are at risk from the coronavirus, they can't even think of opening a school. He said that Protecting our students and teachers from this epidemic as much as possible is our top priority.
