Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a US based standardized test to measure the English language proficiency of non-native English speakers. Just like the IELTS, this test also checks your ability to read, write, listen, and speak English language efficiently.
Types of TOEFL Tests
There are 5 types of TOEFL Exams. These are,
1. TOEFL IBT: TOEFL iBT is the most popular type of TOEFL exam. It is an internet based exam which you can take at home or at a test center. This test is accepted across the world in about 160 countries and more than 11,000 universities.
This test is usually required for professionals and students who wish to work or study in an English country.
2. TOEFL Essential: The TOEFL essential is shorter than the IBT test. It assesses a student’s general English ability. It consists listening and reading passages in the simple form of English language used in daily life.
3. TOEFL ITP Assessment Series: The assessment series also check the test takers on the 4 section of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. However, it is slightly less demanding than the TOEFL IBT. This test can be used for checking existing English language levels before proficiency tests, placement to English courses, and admission to short term non degree programs.
4. TOEFL Junior: The junior test has two versions. These versions are the standard test and the speaking test. For the standard test, reading, listening, and writing sections are available. The speaking test is the second version. This test is used to check the academic and social English language skills of young students.
5. TOEFL Primary: The TOEFL primary tests are for children. Teachers use these tests to see the level of English their students have, and identify their strengths and areas of improvement. The minimum age limit for this test is 8 years. It evaluates students listening, reading, and speaking skills in one hour.
Amongst all these tests, the internet based TOEFL iBT is the most important and relevant test in Pakistan.
TOEFL Fee In Pakistan
The fee for TOEFL iBT is 250 US dollars. You will need to pay this fee as you register for the test. This means you will be paying 56,935 rupees for the test plus taxes and deductions made because of international payments. Approximately, you will be paying a total of 60,000 rupees for this test.
Please note that if you register within 7 days of your test date, you will need to pay an additional 40 dollars, exceeding your fee to 245 dollars. Its always better to register at least 10 days before your test date.

TOEFL Dates in Pakistan
The TOEFL exam is help online, and on center in different cities of Pakistan all year long. To find out about the test dates, create your account on the ETS website, choose your location, type of test, and you will find options to choose your test center and date according to your own schedule.
We suggest that you make a booking at least a month before your test date. This will protect you from extra fee, and you will have a larger range of dates to choose from. If you book later than this time, you may not find a booking.

Structure of TOEFL Test
The most commonly used and universally accepted type of TOEFL is the TOEFL iBT. This is a highly structured test, unlike the IELTS. Both IELTS and TOEFL have the same four sections, but the question types, and the kind of preparation you need is different.
The total time duration to complete all the four sections is 2 hours. In these two hours, here is the breakdown of the time and tasks you will get for each section.

In this test, you will be sitting infront a computer at home or at a test center. The sections will be arranged in the same order as those given above. After you complete the test, you will receive your reading and listening scores right away. Duration: 35 minutes
The reading section will have two passages, each with 10 MCQ based questions. You will have to solve these passages taken from books, magazines, and other academic writings. In some of these questions, there will be more than one correct option. So be very careful as you solve these

2. TOEFL Listening Section
Duration: 36 minutes
The listening section which will have 2 conversations, and 3 lecture recordings. The total time for this section will be 36 minutes.
In TOEFL listening, you will be listening to recorded questions. After each recording you will receive a set of multiple choice questions from these recordings. Let’s break down the number of questions you will have to solve with each recording,
