22 colleges to introduce four-year BS (Honours)
The
Punjab higher education department is all set to introduce
four-year BS (Honours) programme in around two dozen
selected colleges across the province.
The department had selected some 22 colleges, including
Government Science College, Wahdat Road, and Government
Islamia College, Civil Lines, for the launch of the BS (Honours)
programme. The department has selected the colleges based on
the facts that these institutions had postgraduate classes
for the subjects being introduced at BS (Honours) programme.
The department would seek admitted students' option in the
selected colleges, whether they wanted to continue with the
two-year BA or BSc programme or like to join the four-year
BS programme.
The final decision about programme's scheme of studies as
well as the requirement of faculty and infrastructure rested
with the PU academic council and the syndicate. The PU will
also decide the nomenclature of the degree.
