Rawalpindi, The 10th stage of Education Voucher Scheme (EVS) under Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has been started in 28 districts of the province targeted the remote and isolated areas. The program is being started in May and around 10, 000 deserving and poor children in the age of 5 to 6 will get benefit from this scheme. They will have opportunity to study free of cost in school still Matriculation. By providing this facility the total number of students will be upraised to 150,000 in the province. PEF Chairman Raja Anwar revealed this news while speaking at the geometry boxes distribution ceremony at its regional office. The event was attended by students; teachers and principals of EVS partner schools of Rawalpindi, Attock and Chakwal districts. The EVS will deliver fee educational facilities to poor children, PEF chairman said. Till 2018 around 4 million children will get benefit under PEF schemes. He further said that attendance ratio is over 90 percent observed by PEF. PEF has also hosted latest ideal mark reader technology for paper checking. Around 22 partner schools in the typical villages have been started by PEF. He stressed that partners should boost the poor people to send their children to get free education.
