The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced early summer vacations due to the ongoing severe heatwave. The decision will be applicable to all public and private schools in Islamabad According to the notification, early summer vacations are announced for pre-primary to class five in all government and private schools in ICT. Classes shall resume from the next academic year.
Extreme weather conditions and climate changes are affecting the lives of individuals throughout the country. Pakistan and India are amongst the countries affected most by climate change. Parents all over the country are demanding early summer vacations. The decision has come in the light of the above.
The FDE has also revised school timings for classes 6 and above. Classes in all schools and colleges shall start at 8 AM and end at 11 AM. The summer vacations schedule for higher classes will also be announced soon.
The FDE has also revised the exam timings for classes 5 to 8. The final exams will now be held from 8 AM to 11 AM. It is pertinent to mention here that Balochistan has also announced early summer vacations. Parents in Punjab and Sindh are also demanding the same.
