The federal government has announced the Eid-ul-Azha holidays from 17th to 19th June 2024. An official notification is issued by the cabinet division in this regard.
Citizens will enjoy 5 holidays on this occasion as Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16 are already public holidays, there will be a total of five holidays on Eid-ul-Azha.
Earlier, the Cabinet Division had submitted a summary to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The proposal outlined granting Eid holidays from June 17 to 19.
This extended break will allow citizens to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with their families and even enjoy the long break in northern areas. Previous year, northern areas were flooded with people from all over Pakistan, but as the Eid holidays are ending on third day of Eid, it is expected the fewer people will avail this option as compared to previous years.
It is pertinent to mention that Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on June 17 this year. Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir announced the sighting of the moon last Friday in a press conference held at the Pakistan Meteorological Department office in Karachi.
