At Divisional Level GCU orators secured a total of seven positions in the Chief Minister Debates Competition 2011. A total of 35 speakers participated from different institutions. Haider Hayat Khan Stood second in urdu debate while Gadhaun Aslam stood first in English debates at intermediate level. Adnan Farooq stood first and Hafiz Ali Moin ud Din grabbed third position in Urdu Debates at Degree level. Shoiab Ahmed stood second in English Debate at Degree level while Ali Zafar and Umer Jee Saleemi stood second and third respectively in English Debates at Post Graduate Level.
GCU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khaleeq ur Rehman has congratulated the position holder students and expressed delight over the valued efforts of GCU students who performed well on both district and provincial levels. GCU Vice Chancellor also appreciated the initiative of Chief Minister Punjab in the realm of extra and co-curricular activities. He said that competitions like such do not only create positive and healthy competition amongst the students but also prove useful in their character building.
