Khyber Medical University (KMU) has announced the admission schedule for MBBS and BDS programs for the 2026-27 academic session in public-sector medical and dental colleges across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the admission notice, the admissions are being conducted through a single centralized admission process for eligible candidates domiciled in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the merged districts.
The admission process covers nine public-sector medical colleges and four dental colleges in KP, along with reciprocal seats in medical colleges in Punjab and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Admissions are also included for the KMU Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Kohat, and KMU Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS), Kohat.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC), FSc (Pre-Medical), or an equivalent qualification recognized by the relevant authorities.
For the MBBS program, applicants must have a minimum of 55% marks in MDCAT-2024, MDCAT-2025 or MDCAT-2026, while candidates applying for BDS must have at least 50% marks in the relevant MDCAT examination. Candidates must also fulfill the applicable domicile requirements of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or the merged districts.
Merit Calculation
KMU will calculate aggregate merit using the following weightage:
- Secondary School Certificate (SSC): 10%
- Intermediate/HSSC or equivalent: 40%
- Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT): 50%
Application Deadline
KMU has made the admission forms available through its online admissions portal. The last date for submission of admission applications is October 21, 2026.
Candidates are required to submit their applications online and arrange their college preferences in the designated fields. Applicants are also advised to retain their original fee slips as evidence of payment.

KMU has stated that incomplete applications will not be entertained and that applications submitted by hand or through mail/courier will not be accepted. Candidates must follow the online application procedure and provide the required documentation according to the admission instructions.
The university has also cautioned applicants that submitting false, forged or misleading information or documents can result in cancellation of admission.
