University of Health Sciences UHS Lahore and UET Lahore have agreed to develop a joint strategy for conducting online entry test for Admissions to Medical & dental colleges of Punjab MDCAT for session 2020. VC UET arrived at UHS and held a meeting with Vice-Chancellor UHS Prof. Javed Akram, Senior Staff, and Faculty members.
Prof. Mansoor Sarwar said that Due to Corona, UET will conduct an online entry test this year. ECAT is being organized in collaboration with Virtual University. 33,000 candidates will give e-cats on computer instead of exam copies, says Prof Mansoor Sarwar. A mock test will also be conducted for the candidate's practice at the end of this month before the actual ECAT. The principles of social distance will be taken care of inside the computer lab.
Prof Javed Akram VC UHS said that We will benefit from UET's experience in conducting online MDCAT for admission in medical colleges. Both the universities will develop a joint strategy in this regard. Prof. Javed Akram said that 80,000 candidates are expected to participate in MDCAT. It is a legal requirement to conduct entrance test for admission in professional institutions. In view of Corona, the safety of the candidates is the first priority, said Prof. Javed Akra.
Both the universities also agreed on the joint use of the Entrance Test Question Bank. VC UHS said that approval from HEC would be sought for a Joint Strategy for Online Entrance Test. Punjab University will also be made a part of this project, said Prof. Javed Akram. Special SOPs for entry test will be ensured in view of Corona. Supervising staff will have corona screening. It is also suggested to segregate the Candidates with symbols.
