National Command Operation Center confirmed the decision to reopen primary and middle schools and universities from February 01, 2021. The NCOC meeting was held today, which was chaired by Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar. Coronavirus situation in the country was reviewed in the meeting and consultation was also held on the decision to reopen educational institutions in the second phase.
The meeting was also attended by Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood, Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho, and chief secretaries of all provinces.
The NCOC decided that all universities and primary and middle schools across the country will reopen on February 1 as per schedule. Students would attend educational institutions on alternate days, maintaining a daily strength of 50 percent of total students. It is pertinent to mention here that schools were opened for class 9-12 in the first phase. Primary and Middle schools were scheduled to be reopened from January 25 but it was delayed. Now primary and middle schools and universities will reopen from Feb 01.
