If you are planning to apply to National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) for Fall 2026, this is an important moment. The university has announced NET Series-4, and this is officially the last chance to appear in the NUST Entry Test for this admission cycle. Students who miss this opportunity will have to wait for next year.
The NUST Entry Test (NET) is the main requirement for admission in undergraduate programs. It is conducted multiple times in a year, and students can attempt it more than once to improve their score. However, Series-4 is the final attempt, so it carries extra importance, especially for those who either didn’t apply earlier or want to improve their marks for better merit positions.
For 2026 admissions, registration for NET Series-4 starts from 26 April 2026, and the last date to apply is 8 June 2026. The test will begin from 13 June 2026 onwards. Students applying through SAT also have time, with the deadline going up to 25 July 2026. It is always better to apply early instead of waiting for the last date, as test slots (especially for computer-based tests) can fill quickly.
NUST offers admissions in a wide range of fields, including engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, business, social sciences, and natural sciences. The merit is quite competitive, especially for fields like CS and Software Engineering, so a strong NET score can make a big difference.
The application process is simple but must be followed carefully. First, students need to check eligibility based on their academic background (FSc, A-Levels, or equivalent). Then they have to create an account on the NUST admissions portal, fill in their details, and select their desired program. After submitting the form, the next step is to pay the application fee through the 1Link payment system. Once the payment is confirmed, students can download their admit card, which contains the test date and center details.
NUST conducts the test in two formats. The computer-based test is held at the main campus in Islamabad and offers more flexibility in choosing dates. The paper-based test is conducted in cities like Karachi, Quetta, and Gilgit on specific dates. Students can choose the option that suits them best.
The test itself is based on the FSC syllabus and includes subjects like Mathematics or Biology (depending on the field), Physics, Chemistry or Computer Science, and English. The key to success is strong conceptual preparation rather than rote learning. Practicing past papers and managing time during the test are also very important.
Another important aspect is financial support. NUST offers need-based scholarships for deserving students. Those who require assistance should apply for scholarships before the registration deadline, as late applications may not be considered.
Admission in NUST is based on a combination of NET score and academic marks. This means even a small improvement in your test score can significantly increase your chances of getting into your desired field. Classes for most programs are expected to start in September 2026.
In simple words, if NUST is your target, this is not the time to delay. NET Series-4 is your final opportunity for 2026 admissions. Apply on time, prepare smartly, and aim for the highest score possible to secure your place in one of Pakistan’s top universities.
