The government of Sindh has decided to introduce 3 new groups for intermediate students. According to the plan, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Medical Technology groups will be introduced at the intermediate level. The curriculum Preparation for Medical Technology, Nursing, and Pharmacy is underway. A 9-member committee is set up to liaise with boards and HEC.
Having Medical Technology, Nursing, and Pharmacy groups in Intermediate will benefit thousands of students who could not get admission in Pre-Medical Colleges due to low marks in Class 10 and will be able to get admission in other departments related to Medical.
However, after the introduction of more groups in the intermediate, the students will now be able to get admission in the medical fields, including nursing and pharmacy. The Sindh Education Department has formed a nine-member committee to introduce new groups, prepare curricula, and liaise with boards and the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
No member from Pakistan Medical Council or Pakistan Nursing Council has been included in the nine-member committee formed by the education department, as the new groups being introduced in the intermediate are mainly consist of science subjects only.
