School Education Department, Government of the Punjab has started the consultation process for reopening of schools. All stakeholders have been provided with different options for the reopening of schools. In the first phase, schools will be reopened in districts where the number of coronavirus patients is low. Data will be obtained from the national website for coronavirus reporting.
Health Department will also cooperate in this regard. Initially students of class 9 to 12 will be asked to attend classes in schools for 3 days in a week. However, teachers, students, and parents shall be given proper training before the reopening of schools. Social distancing shall also be maintained in classrooms. In order to maintain the required distance, schools will operate in three shifts, Morning, afternoon, and evening.
Students of class 1 to class 5 shall attend classes for two days in a week while students of class 6,7 and 8 will attend classes for 3 days in a week. Students will continue their studies from home for the remaining days through Teleschool. Mobile Vans will reach areas to teach students where cable is not available.
