The School Education Department of Punjab has made it mandatory to produce a school leaving certificate for admission to another school. NOC of the previously attended school will also be required to ensure that students do not leave schools without paying fees.
This step has been taken to discourage the admission of children from one school to another without a certificate. It will also be necessary to get a NOC for payment of fees from the school. The Punjab School Education Department has decided on the suggestion of the organization of private schools that students who drop out of private schools will have to provide a school leaving certificate for admission to another school.
Some students fail or have arrears and enroll in another school. The move comes amid fears that children who do not pay fees during the Corona holiday will be admitted to other schools. It has been reported that parents are enrolling their children in another school without a certificate. The law already existed but was not being implemented. For admission of children in private or government institution, parents have to submit the NOC of payment of fees from the previous school.
