Interprovincial Education Ministers conference has decided to conduct Matric and Inter exams in May or June. Punjab Education Minister Dr. Murad Raas announced today in a press conference that Matric and Inter exams from class 9 to class 12 cannot be conducted in March as the syllabus cannot be completed by that time. He said that relevant boards will decide the exact date of the exams.
Dr. Murad Raas also said that exams of classes 1-8 will be conducted in March. Previously we had announced that the Punjab Higher education department is working on a plan to conduct matric and inter exams 2021 in August instead of March. According to the details, a working paper is being prepared to change the schedule of the matric and intermediate exams.
The schedule for the Matric and Intermediate examinations is proposed to be shifted to August. Referring to the working paper, Secretary Higher Education Punjab Iram Bukhari said that work has been done to hold the Matriculation and Intermediate examinations in August instead of March.
As a lot of time is lost due to coronavirus holidays in the schools and colleges, hence it has become difficult to complete the syllabus. As the suggestions are under consideration to close the schools again in winter, hence the syllabus will not be covered by the end of February.
She said that the department of higher education would send a plan to reschedule the examinations to the federal government. The final decision to reschedule the examinations will be made in the 23rd November meeting.
