Who Can Apply for the Workers Welfare Scholarship?
The scholarship is primarily for children of eligible industrial workers and employees covered by the Workers Welfare Fund/Workers Welfare Board.
According to the announced criteria:
- The worker should fall under the applicable definition of a worker under the Industrial Relations Act 2012.
- Normally, at least three years of cumulative service is required for education at post-intermediate level.
- No minimum service period is required for education up to intermediate level.
- The worker should generally be registered with EOBI or the Social Security Institution.
- Children of deceased workers may also qualify under the specified conditions.

Education Requirements
For admission to FSc and university programmes, students must meet the required minimum marks. The notice states that 60% marks are required for FSc and university programmes, while 80% marks are required for medical and engineering programmes.
Students must also meet the promotion and admission requirements of their school, college or university and study at an institution recognized by the relevant government authorities and HEC where applicable.
Category I Scholarship
Category I covers students pursuing:
- Intermediate or equivalent education from a Federal or Provincial Board or another government-recognized institution.
- Technical training from institutions registered with the Provincial Board of Technical and Vocational Education, TEVTA, NTB/NAVTTC or relevant authority.
The monthly stipend under this category is Rs. 3,500, and the last date for scholarship reimbursement cases is January 31, 2027.
The notice also encourages children of industrial workers to seek admission in Workers Welfare Board educational institutions. Where seats are unavailable, students may be admitted to other eligible public-sector schools or colleges according to the prescribed policy.
Category II Scholarship
Category II is for students enrolled in a two-year or four-year graduation programme at a public or private university or a college affiliated with an HEC-recognized university.
Students in this category can receive Rs. 4,500 per month.

Category III Scholarship

- Postgraduate degrees from HEC-recognized universities or affiliated institutions.

Documents Required
Applicants should prepare the required documents before submitting the scholarship form. The notification states that documents generally need to be attested by a Gazetted Government Officer of BPS-17 or above, except for specified documents.

- Offer letter from the recognized university, college or institution.
- Attestation of the management and CBA on the scholarship form, where applicable.

- Attested copy of the student's CNIC/B-Form.

Important Rules for Students
The scholarship is subject to several conditions. Students are generally required to continue their studies regularly and complete their degree within the approved timeframe.
The Workers Welfare Fund can discontinue financial support if a student fails to meet the required academic or institutional conditions. A student who changes the selected discipline after admission may also require special approval.
