ISLAMABAD (P.R.) — Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming education and professional life, making it increasingly important for students to develop future-oriented skills alongside traditional academic qualifications. This was highlighted during career counselling sessions held under the “Mera Career” program at educational institutions across Islamabad.
Students were informed that AI is changing the nature of professions and that individuals who combine expertise in their respective fields with the ability to effectively use AI and modern technologies will have greater opportunities for success in the future.
The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, in collaboration with the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) and Eduvision Career Counselling, has launched the “Mera Career” program to provide career guidance and counselling to students in government schools and colleges across Islamabad. The program will extend career counselling facilities to students in more than 245 educational institutions across the federal capital.
Under the initiative, career counselling sessions were held on September 14, 2026, at 18 educational institutions in Islamabad, focusing on emerging career opportunities in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
During the sessions, students were told that AI is not limited to Computer Science or Information Technology. Artificial Intelligence is creating new roles and career pathways across almost every field. Emerging opportunities include Business Analyst, Product Manager and AI Business Consultant, while fields such as Marketing, Psychology, Media and Law are also seeing new roles, including AI Marketing Specialist, Marketing Automation Specialist, UX Researcher, Human-AI Interaction Specialist, AI Content Producer, Digital Content Strategist, Legal Tech Specialist and AI Legal Researcher.
The counselling sessions also emphasized the importance of Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Communication, Creativity and Technology Skills. Students were encouraged to make informed career choices by understanding their abilities, interests and aptitudes, while also keeping in view the changing requirements of the future job market.
The sessions highlighted that in an AI-driven future, success will depend not only on obtaining a degree but also on continuously developing relevant skills and learning how to work effectively alongside emerging technologies. Students were encouraged to embrace lifelong learning and remain adaptable as technology and career opportunities continue to evolve.
