The Economic Affairs Division (EAD) has announced admissions under the Pakistan Technical Assistance Programme (PTAP) for Pakistanis holding foreign nationality. A limited number of seats are available in D.Pharmacy and BSc Engineering programs at universities across Pakistan for the 2026-27 academic session.
Under PTAP, eligible Pakistan-origin students can secure admission to participating Pakistani universities, with the fee structure generally kept at par with local Pakistani students admitted on merit to the respective universities.
The last date to apply is September 10, 2026.
Eligibility for BSc Engineering
Applicants seeking admission to BSc Engineering programs must:
- Have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at HSSC or equivalent level.
- Obtain at least 60% marks in HSSC or an equivalent qualification.
- Pass the required admission test where prescribed by the concerned university.
- Provide a valid TOEFL or IELTS score of 550 or 5.5, respectively, if the medium of instruction in the qualifying examination was not English.
- Alternatively, candidates may provide certification from the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad, after completing a one-year English language course.
Eligibility for D.Pharmacy
Applicants for D.Pharmacy must:
- Have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology at HSSC or equivalent level.
- Obtain at least 60% marks in HSSC or equivalent qualification.
- Provide an equivalence certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) where required for foreign qualifications.
General Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold valid proof of foreign nationality for both the applicant and parent.
- Provide valid proof of Pakistani origin, such as a Pakistan Origin Card, NADRA ID Card or Pakistani passport.
- Have studied and passed Grade 12 or an equivalent examination physically from abroad.
Required Documents
Applicants should download the latest PTAP application form from the Economic Affairs Division website, preferably type and print it, and submit it in quadruplicate along with attested copies of the required documents, including:
- HSSC or equivalent certificate and detailed marks certificate/transcript.
- IBCC equivalence certificate for foreign qualifications.
- Proof of foreign nationality of the applicant and parent, such as a foreign passport or citizenship certificate. A green card is not accepted as proof of foreign nationality.
- Proof of Pakistani origin, such as a Pakistani passport or NADRA ID card.
- Valid TOEFL/IELTS scorecard for BSc Engineering applicants where applicable.
Completed applications must be submitted to the R&I/PTAP Section of the Economic Affairs Division along with all required documents by September 10, 2026.
Applications that are incomplete or received after the deadline will not be considered.
