More than 138,000 students have registered for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026, according to official sources.
The entrance test for admission to medical and dental colleges will be conducted simultaneously across Pakistan on Sunday, 16 August 2026, at 10:00 AM.
Provincial Universities Assigned Test Responsibility
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has allocated the responsibility for conducting the test to different universities in each region:

Islamabad, AJK, GB and Saudi Arabia Centers
The responsibility for conducting MDCAT in Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan has been entrusted to Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University.
PMDC has also assigned the same university to organize the examination in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, facilitating Pakistani students residing abroad.
Additional Islamabad Center for Balochistan Students
In a special arrangement, PMDC announced that an additional MDCAT examination center will be established in Islamabad for students holding Balochistan domicile.
Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences will manage this extra center, enabling Balochistan candidates to appear for the test in Islamabad and reducing travel-related difficulties for many applicants.
With registrations crossing 138,000, MDCAT 2026 is expected to be one of the largest admission tests conducted in recent years. The examination remains a mandatory requirement for admission to medical and dental colleges across Pakistan.
