Over 20,000 students are projected to move from private schools to government ones, said Sarah Al Amiri, the Chairperson of Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE), in a press briefing. The government education sector of UAE is working actively for the enhancement of educational standards and facilities. The efforts of the authorities bore fruit. Over 23000 teachers have been trained under the education enhancement initiative and 48 high-standard buses have been inducted into the pick and drop fleet. The Ministry of Education has inaugurated 14 newly built schools with 30 schools being shifted to model standard schools with the installation of modern gadgets.
Sarah Al Amiri credited all this change to the visionary approach of leadership towards the education sector, the continuous overseeing of the activities going on, and the introduction of modern techniques for the holistic development of students.
All the schools are ready to embrace students as the coming Monday marks the beginning of academic activities. A working group had already been created last March to develop preparatory plans for the coming academic year. The preparatory activities included the renovation of schools and the enhancement of academic equipment and educational facilities. The capacity to cater to a larger number of students was also included in the plan, following this, 14 new government schools have been established. Seeing the government's foresighted vision, the trend to switch from private to government schools has been seen to increase. Sarah Al Amiri along with other representatives briefed the media during a press talk held at Emirates Towers.
“Ajyal Schools” is an exemplary model in achieving the academic development goals lined by the Ministry of Education. The steps undertaken for the advancement in the education sector include training educators on modern standards, establishment, and renovation of schools, the addition of high-standard buses in the school transport fleet, distribution of gadgets and books, and readily availability of school uniforms for students.
Under the project of training the educators, a “specialized training week” was launched for capacity building and to ensure the preparedness of educators for the coming academic year. The project included 165 workshops and over 23000 teachers participated in this program.
The government has established 14 schools over various emirates and according to a report over 47 schools have been renovated. Also, the Ministry of Education has completed the modernization of 30 schools with the collaboration of key private and government establishments.
In the preparatory process, 48 buses meeting the international safety standards have been added to transport facilities of schools and it has been ensured that already available buses also meet the minimum safety standards.
All steps have been taken to ensure a quality academic environment with all types of facilities available to students.
