Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that Gauth AI, an artificial intelligence-based educational application, will provide 4,000 free subscriptions in Pakistan to support students and teachers in learning and teaching.
The announcement was made during a ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and Gauth AI.
Under the initiative, 4,000 free subscriptions will be provided to support educational activities. Of these, 1,000 subscriptions will be given to teachers at the newly inaugurated Daanish School on Kurri Road in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister thanked Gauth AI, ByteDance and TikTok for their cooperation in this initiative.
Gauth AI is a digital study application that uses artificial intelligence to help students understand academic concepts and solve educational problems.
Students can type a question into the application or upload a picture of a question to receive a solution with an explanation. The app can assist with subjects such as mathematics, physics and chemistry.
Instead of providing only a final answer, the application can explain the steps involved in solving a problem, helping students understand the method and improve their problem-solving skills.
Key Features of Gauth AI
The application offers several learning features that may help students with their studies:
-
AI tutoring: Provides explanations and guidance on academic questions.
-
Step-by-step solutions: Helps students understand how to solve problems in subjects such as mathematics, physics and chemistry.
-
Image-based question solving: Allows students to upload pictures of questions instead of typing them.
-
Practice questions: Supports additional practice to strengthen understanding.
-
Revision support: Helps students review concepts and prepare for examinations.
These features can be useful for students who need additional explanations outside the classroom or want to practise difficult questions independently.
How Will the Free Subscriptions Be Used?
The initiative will provide access to Gauth AI for educational purposes, with 1,000 subscriptions specifically allocated to teachers at the Daanish School on Kurri Road, Islamabad.
The remaining 3,000 subscriptions are part of the announced national allocation. However, the detailed distribution plan, selection criteria and access procedure for these subscriptions have not yet been specified in the announcement.
Students and teachers should wait for official guidance on how to access the free subscriptions and whether they need to register through a designated platform.
Although AI-based educational tools can make learning easier, students should not rely on them as their only source of information.
Artificial intelligence can sometimes provide incorrect answers, misleading explanations or solutions that do not follow the methods prescribed in a particular syllabus. Students should therefore verify important answers using their textbooks, teachers and other reliable educational resources.
AI applications are most useful when students use them to understand concepts, practise questions and identify areas where they need improvement rather than simply copying answers.
The provision of 4,000 free Gauth AI subscriptions represents an effort to introduce AI-based learning tools into Pakistan's education system. The initiative aims to support teaching and learning through digital technology, with 1,000 subscriptions allocated to teachers at the newly inaugurated Daanish School in Islamabad.
Further details about the distribution of the remaining subscriptions and the process for accessing them are awaited. Students and teachers should follow official announcements for updates on availability and registration.
