The Pakistan Engineering Council has announced the 27th Engineering Practice Examination (EPE) – Fall 2026 for Registered Engineers (REs) seeking the prestigious title of Professional Engineer (PE). According to the official notification, the examination will be conducted as a computer-based test on Sunday, November 8, 2026 simultaneously in multiple cities across Pakistan.

The EPE is proposed to be held in the following cities:
- Islamabad
- Rawalpindi
- Lahore
- Multan
- Faisalabad
- Peshawar
- Swat
- Dera Ismail Khan
- Karachi
- Hyderabad/Jamshoro
- Sukkur
- Nawabshah
- Quetta
- Gwadar
- Gilgit-Baltistan
- Muzaffarabad (AJK)
Why the EPE Matters
Under the PEC Act 1976 and PEC CPD Bye-Laws 2008, the Professional Engineer designation provides:

Eligibility Criteria
Engineers applying for the Fall 2026 EPE must:
- Have graduated on or before November 15, 2008.
- Possess five years of practical experience in a relevant engineering field after PEC registration.
- Earn at least 17 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, including 10 points from work/job experience and 7 points from other CPD categories.
Reappearing Candidates
PEC has also allowed engineers who appeared in previous EPEs (such as the 24th, 25th, or 26th EPE) but could not qualify in one section to reappear in the “Not Qualified” part only. Registered Engineers who have fulfilled all eligibility requirements may also apply for the complete examination.
Application Fee
Full EPE Examination: Rs. 5,000 + bank charges
Single Part (for reappearing): Rs. 2,500 + bank charges

Examination Guidelines
PEC has advised candidates to:
- Report to the examination center at least one hour before the start of the test.
- Bring the roll number slip, original CNIC, and original PEC registration card.
- Avoid carrying programmable calculators, laptops, mobile phones, or any electronic storage devices, as only a simple calculator is permitted.
