The Private Schools Action Committee has rejected the government's decision to keep the schools closed, saying that the SOPs have been prepared and the schools will be reopened in three phases from June 15.
While addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club, Pervaiz Haroon, head of the Private Schools Action Committee, said that the committee rejects the government's decision to keep schools closed till September. He said that closure of the schools is not only affecting students but teachers, van drivers, stationery stores, canteen staff, and many others in businesses related to education. He said that all of these are suffering from starvation due to the closure of schools.
Mr. Peraiz Hoaroon said that we have prepared SOPs. Schools will be opened in three phases. In the first phase, students from class 6 to class 10 will start their classes from June 15. In the second phase, students from 3rd grade to 5th grade will come to schools from July 01 while in the third phase class 1 students will start their educational activities.
Pervaiz Haroon said that 25 million children in the country are already out of school and this decision of the government has deprived 50 million more children of education. When the federal government has decided to lock down all schools and Madrassas should be allowed to open immediately with full SOPs, assuring that all educational institutions and madrassas will set an example for other institutions and offices by taking effective precautionary measures.
