Lahore: In view of the increasing heatwave and rising temperatures, the Education Department has decided to ban summer camps in schools across the province from July 1.
According to an official notification, schools were allowed to conduct summer camps only until June 30. From July 1 onward, no educational institution will be permitted to organize summer camps.
The department warned that strict action will be taken against schools that violate the orders. Penalties may include heavy fines and even cancellation of school licenses.
Education authorities have been instructed to inform all schools about the new directives and ensure full implementation. Special monitoring teams will visit schools on July 1 to check whether the ban is being followed.
Officials said immediate action would be taken against any institution found conducting summer camps without permission.
Meanwhile, many parents have welcomed the decision, saying that students should use their summer vacations to complete their holiday homework and stay safe from the extreme heat.
The Education Department stated that the measure has been taken to protect students and staff from the ongoing hot weather conditions and to ensure their health and safety during the summer break.
