The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) has approved an important amendment to the marks improvement policy, introducing new rules for students who remain absent from one or more papers during improvement examinations.
Under the revised policy, if a student is absent from one or more subjects in the Part-I, Part-II, or Composite examination, the student’s previous result in the relevant subject will be used for compilation of the result.
The previous marks will be adjusted with the absent paper to complete the candidate’s result under the marks improvement examination rules.
The revised policy also states that a candidate who remains absent from a paper in the marks improvement examination will have the result declared as “Marks Improved.”
According to board authorities, the amendment has been introduced in the interest of students and is aimed at providing a clear procedure for compiling results when candidates are absent from improvement examination papers.
The new rules will apply to marks improvement examinations conducted under the Punjab boards.
