The Punjab School Education Department has decided to rehire School Teacher Interns (STIs) and approved the continuation of services of those already working in schools.
The department has directed authorities to sign new agreements with the existing STIs. Their services will continue from August 24, 2026, to May 31, 2027.
The School Education Department has also ordered the recruitment of new STIs against vacant positions. These appointments will be made under the School Teacher Interns Program 2024, according to the district-wise seats allocated under the program.
All Chief Executive Officers of education authorities across Punjab have been directed to provide updated records of the School Teacher Interns. Officials have also been instructed to strictly follow the prescribed rules and procedures during recruitment and placement.
The department has declared the recruitment and continuation of STIs a top priority. The move is aimed at ensuring the availability of teachers against vacant positions in government schools across the province.
