The Punjab School Education Department has directed all public and private schools across the province to use a new digital system for monitoring and reporting school security arrangements.
The department has ordered schools to register and provide the required information through the Educational Institutions Security Status (EISS) Mobile Application and Web Portal.
The instructions were issued by the Directorate General of Monitoring and Evaluation in a letter dated August 23, 2026. District Education Authority (DEA) chief executive officers have been asked to share the directions with all government and private schools and ensure compliance.
The EISS system was developed on the instructions of the Punjab Home Department to create a centralized digital record of security arrangements at educational institutions. The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) was assigned the task of developing and launching the platform.
Under the new system, school administrations will use their official login credentials to access the EISS app or web portal. They will be required to enter information about security measures and other required details.
Schools must ensure that the information submitted through the system is complete, accurate, updated, and regularly reviewed.
The new platform will allow education authorities to monitor school security arrangements from a centralized system and check compliance across Punjab. It will also provide updated information that can help officials identify gaps and improve security measures.
The EISS platform will be included in Punjab’s five-tier monitoring system for educational institutions. At the first level, schools will assess their own security arrangements and submit the required information through the digital platform.
Officials expect the system to improve monitoring, strengthen administrative oversight, and provide reliable data for future decisions regarding the security of schools across the province.
