School Education Department has finalized the summary for recruitment of 16000 teachers in the province. The summary is forwarded to CM Usman Bazdar for approval. The recruitment shall be done through Punjab Public Service Commission PPSC. Previously, Punjab Government had announced the recruitment of 33 thousand teachers, but in the first phase, 16000 teachers will be hired.
Chief Minister said that the Punjab government has decided in principle to recruit for one lakh posts in government departments. There should be no delay in salaries. Spokesman of Punjab government Hassan Khawar while briefing the media regarding the recruitment regarding vacancies said that out of 33 thousand vacancies in the school education department, 16 thousand vacancies were filled in the first phase.
According to the details, teachers will be recruited for grades 14 to 16. In the first phase. Punjab Public Service Commission shall announce the recruitment process soon and advertisements will be published in major newspapers. Applications shall be submitted to PPSC. Test and Interview shall be conducted and a strict merit policy will be observed. It is pertinent to mention here that Schools in Punjab are facing severe shortage of teachers and the Government has planned to recruit the School Teaching Internees as well to overcome the shortage of teaching staff in the schools.
