The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has denied a notification circulating on social media about new school timings in the province.
Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah said the document being shared online is fake and has no official status. He warned that such information could create confusion among students, parents, teachers, and schools.
The minister said the education department will announce the revised school timings through official channels once the schedule is finalized.
The clarification follows the government’s recent decision to reduce school hours by one hour because of the ongoing extreme heat in Sindh.
Speaking at an event in Karachi on Tuesday, Syed Sardar Ali Shah said the reduction in school hours was introduced to protect students from high temperatures and reduce their exposure to severe heat during the day.
The department has advised parents, students, teachers, and school administrations not to rely on unofficial notifications circulating on social media. They have been asked to wait for the official school timing schedule before making any changes to school routines.
The new timings will be considered official only after they are formally issued by the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department.
