Karachi: Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi has launched a free Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summer Camp at the Governor House to provide students with an opportunity to learn AI and digital skills during their summer vacations.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the governor said that artificial intelligence is shaping the future of education, technology, and employment, making it essential for young people to gain knowledge of emerging technologies.
He explained that the summer camp has been introduced to help students make productive use of their holidays by learning practical AI skills, improving creativity, and preparing for future careers in the digital economy.
The governor said Pakistan is moving towards greater adoption of information technology and artificial intelligence, and the initiative is part of broader efforts to prepare the country's youth for future challenges. He emphasized that students should have equal opportunities to access modern education regardless of their financial background.
According to the governor, talented students will be encouraged and supported so they can contribute to Pakistan's growing technology sector. He expressed hope that today's students would become future innovators, IT professionals, and AI experts.
Nehal Hashmi also announced that admissions to the AI Summer Camp will be offered purely on merit. Students who are familiar with basic smartphone usage will be eligible to apply for the program.
The free AI Summer Camp is expected to provide participants with introductory knowledge of artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and practical applications of AI, helping students develop valuable skills for higher education and future careers.
