The Punjab Workers Welfare Board (PWWB) is offering fully funded scholarships for workers, miners, and their children to pursue higher education at COMSATS University campuses across Pakistan under the Labour Quota Scheme for Fall 2026 admissions.

Eligibility Criteria for COMSATS Labour Quota Scholarship 2026

To qualify for the scholarship, the worker or miner must fulfill the following conditions:

Worker Requirements

  • Must meet the definition of a worker under the Industrial Relations Act, 2010.
  • Must possess a valid Social Security Card.
  • Must have at least one year of work experience in a factory registered under the Factories Act 1934 or a mine registered under the Mines Act 1923.
  • The employing organization must qualify as a factory under the Workers' Welfare Fund Ordinance 1971 or the Companies' Profit Workers Participation Act 1968.

Eligibility for Children of Workers

Children of eligible workers and miners can apply for admission under the labour quota.

Children of deceased or disabled workers are also eligible provided:

  • The worker was registered with EOBI or Social Security.
  • The worker became disabled or passed away during service.
  • The widow or legal heir received a Death Grant from PWWB or receives a pension through EOBI or Social Security.

Additional Conditions

  • The applicant must not be involved in any criminal activity or legal proceedings.
  • The candidate must fulfill the admission requirements of the relevant COMSATS degree program.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents along with their admission application:

  • Worker or miner's CNIC
  • Social Security Card or Old Age Benefit (EOBI) Card
  • Factory Card or Employee Card showing designation
  • Appointment Letter
  • Factory Registration Certificate under the Factories Act 1934 or Mines Act 1923
  • Student's CNIC or Family Registration Certificate (FRC) issued by NADRA
  • Service Certificate and Character Certificate of the worker
  • Affidavit on Rs. 20 stamp paper stating that educational expenses will be reimbursed if studies are discontinued
  • Death Grant or Disability Pension proof (for children of deceased or disabled workers)

Scholarship Duration

The scholarship is awarded for the complete duration of the degree program, up to a maximum of eight semesters.

However, if a student repeats a course or semester, the additional academic expenses must be paid according to COMSATS University regulations.
