Punjab HEC Indigenous PhD Scholarship

Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the Indigenous PhD Scholarship (IPHD). This scholarship is available to pursue PhD study in any public or private sector university chartered by the Government of Punjab, covering various disciplines such as Science & Technology, Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Business & Management Sciences, etc.

Punjab HEC will provide a PKR: 100,000 monthly stipend to the selected PhD scholars in the field of science and technology and PKR: 50,000/- Per month for arts and social sciences for 3 years. Online applications can be submitted by January 28, 2023.

Punjab HEC Indigenous PhD scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

The eligible candidate must:

• Hold domicile from any district of the Punjab,
• Hold an MS/MPhil degree from a foreign/local university with no 3rd division or grade D in my entire academic career.
• Candidates applying for Ph.D. scholarship must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the semester system), CGPA of 3.75 (out of 5), or first division (in the annual system) in MS/MPhil/Equivalent degree.
• Have NOC and approved study leave from the parent department if employed 5. Be a maximum of 40 years of age (45-year age limit for females) on the closing date.
• The scholarship is meant only for three years, and during the continuance of PhD, the awardee shall not do join any other job.
• The awardee shall seek admission in any public/private sector university of Punjab within 9 months after the award of the scholarship letter.
• Candidates in the Science and technology category are required to submit a financial support letter from the industry, demonstrating financial support of a minimum of Rs. 10,000 per month.

Applicants Not Eligible:

a) The candidates who are already availing of any other HEC/Government scholarship for PhD are not eligible to apply.

b) The candidates who are already doing Ph.D.

FINANCIAL COVERAGE

PHEC will provide funds for 36 months as follows:

• Rs. 50,000/- per month (all inclusive) for the Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Business & Management Sciences, etc. and;
• Rs. 100,000/- per month (all inclusive) for the Sciences & Technology.

How to apply for the Indigenous PhD Scholarship

Apply online at the PHEC website till January 28, 2024, and a hard copy of the application complete in all respects must reach the address given below on or before January 31, 2024, till 05:00 PM through registered post only.
