Punjab Government is setting up District Registration Authorities for registration of private schools across the Punjab. These authorities will be set up under the Punjab Private Education Institutions Ordinance 1984. The District Registration Authority (DRA) will be a five-member committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner of the respective district.
A meeting was held in Rawalpindi to set up the District Registration authority. Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, member and CEO Education authority, district monitoring officer, and representative of private schools union participated.
It was decided that advertisement would be given for the selection of a representative of the parents for which the regular conditions were set. The representative of the parents should have post graduation qualification, his/her children should be studying in private school, and he/she must have a proper understanding of the law. Private Schools organization is also asked to appoint their unanimously selected member.
