The inter-provincial education ministers' conference has decided to keep educational institutions open despite the second wave of Corona. Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood in which the education ministers and officials of the four provinces and Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan participated through video link. The Education Ministers discussed the three-point agenda of Corona, the winter holidays, and the transition from April to August.
The ministers of education decided to keep the educational institutions open. The participants agreed that in the current situation, there is no need to close the educational institutions. No final decision could be taken to start the academic year from August instead of April. The participants agreed to further reduce the winter break, convene the next meeting in the first week of December and extend the school year.
Federal Minister Shafqat Mehmood said that a good university is not only built from the building but it also needs the best teachers and facilities, efforts are being made to improve the quality of education. The closure of educational institutions has caused a lot of damage.
