Ten candidates who appeared in the 2026 MDCAT have approached the Sindh High Court, seeking the release of the examination question paper and official answer keys.
The students have also requested the court to halt the preparation of the final merit list and the medical college admission process until the issue is addressed.
The petition was filed through Advocate Muhammad Nawaz Dahri, with six parties named as respondents, including the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Sukkur IBA University and Jinnah Sindh Medical University.
The petitioners have asked the authorities to publish the complete MDCAT question paper and answer keys within three days. They argue that candidates need access to the original paper to accurately compare their responses with the official answers and identify any potentially incorrect answers.
The MDCAT was conducted on September 20, 2026. According to the petition, candidates were provided with carbon copies of their answer sheets after the examination but were not allowed to take the question paper with them.
Some candidates reportedly requested copies of the question paper from examination staff but were not provided with them.
The students maintain that without access to the original questions, they cannot properly evaluate the official answer keys or raise objections against answers they believe may be incorrect.
Their lawyer argued that even a small difference in marks can affect a candidate's position on the merit list and consequently influence admission opportunities in medical colleges.
The petitioners have therefore asked the court to direct the relevant authorities to make the question paper and answer keys public before proceeding with the final merit list and admissions.
They say that releasing the examination material would allow candidates to independently verify their results and raise any genuine objections, while also improving transparency in the MDCAT process.
