In compliance with the Admission Policy, notified by the Government of Punjab on 27th September, 2023, the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, invites applications from eligible candidates, through its online application portal, for admission to MBBS and BDS programs in Private Sector Medical and Dental Colleges of Punjab for the Session 2023-2024.
The application process shall start on October 16, 2023. The last date to submit the application for MBBS and BDS to private medical and dental colleges is October 31, 2023. The provisional merit list shall be displayed on January 02, 2024.
UHS Eligibility Criteria for Private Medical Colleges Admission
The candidate must have passed the MDCAT-2023 with a minimum of 55% (i.e. 110/200) marks for MBBS and 50% (i.e. 100/200) marks for admission to the BDS program. Please note that the result of last year’s MDCAT (i.e. MDCAT-2022) shall not be valid for seeking admission in the Session 2023-24.
The candidate must possess a Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) qualification or an equivalent 12th-grade qualification recognized in Pakistan (IBCC Equivalence Certificate is mandatory in this case) and have obtained a minimum of 60% marks therein and have passed the subjects of Biology and Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics in the examination.
The candidate having the domicile certificate of any district of Pakistan can apply. However, as per Section 17(4) of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council Act 2022, preference shall be given in admissions to candidates having domicile of Punjab. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR MERIT SEATS: i. No candidate shall be eligible for foreign quota seats unless he/she holds a permanent foreign nationality or is an Overseas (being a Pakistani citizen permanently resident in a foreign country) Pakistani, and who has studied and passed HSSC/12th grade examination or equivalent from outside Pakistan with minimum 60% marks (IBCC Equivalence Certificate is mandatory in this case) and is a resident of a foreign country at the time of applying for admission and possess a certificate from the institution last attended to this effect. He/she must have passed the subjects of Biology and Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics in the examination. ii. The candidate must have qualified for SAT-II with a minimum score of 550 in Biology and Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics each or a foreign MCAT examination or UCAT examination with a minimum of 50% marks.
Where any seat of foreign quota remains vacant due to unavailability of eligible candidates or otherwise, it shall stand transferred to open merit and the student shall be charged fee and dues prescribed for Merit Seat. An ineligible candidate shall not be admitted against such seats.
How to Apply for Admissions to Private Medical Colleges
Visit the Online Admission Portal for Private Sector Medical and Dental Colleges on the UHS website (www.uhs.edu.pk). Step
Create an account by providing your Name, Father/Guardian Name, Email ID, and Password.
First, indicate your preference for the MBBS and BDS programs. You can choose either MBBS or BDS or both. If you select both MBBS and BDS, you will need to specify your preference for each program. After choosing a program, select the category or categories of seats (i.e. Merit or Foreign/Self-Finance) you wish to apply for.
Fill in your personal details on the application form, including your name, domicile, contact information, address, nationality, gender, date of birth, etc.
Enter your qualification details, such as your SSC and HSSC marks, year of passing, subjects/study group, etc. Step 6: Provide details about your MDCAT or other admission test scores.
Determine the order of preference for medical and/or dental colleges. You can select as many colleges as you wish to enter, depending on the seat category. You can edit your application until the closing date, but the number and order of preference will be final and unchangeable after the submission deadline. Colleges not included in your preference list will not be considered for admission.
Upload scanned documents, ensuring each document is within a maximum size of 2 MB, as specified in the advertisement published in national newspapers on 8th October 2023 (also available on UHS website: www.uhs.edu.pk).
Read and acknowledge the Undertaking/Affidavit. Verify the provided information and attachments before submission.
Submit the online application. You will receive a confirmation notification via your email address and primary mobile number. Download and print both the submitted application and the bank challan for the processing fee.
Visit the nearest branch of The Bank of Punjab (BOP) with the fee challan to deposit the non-refundable Admission Processing Fee of Rs. 2,000 per program. Your application process is now complete.
Important Note
- Applications must be submitted exclusively through the Online Portal of Private Sector Colleges. Any applications that are incomplete or are submitted in violation of the prescribed procedure shall be rejected. Failure to pay the processing fee by the specified due date shall also result in application rejection. While you do not need to submit a print-out of the application or the receipt of a paid fee to the University, it is advisable to keep them for your personal records.
- The candidature/admission of a candidate found to have submitted forged/fake/fabricated documents or incorrect/false information shall be canceled immediately. iii. All Merit and Selection Lists shall be made available on the UHS website (www.uhs.edu.pk).
- Selected candidates will be required to download the College Fee Challan of Rs. One Million for a Merit Seat and US$ 10,000 for a Foreign Seat from the Online Admission Portal and deposit amount at designated branches of the Bank of Punjab (BOP). Failing to do so within the stipulated time period shall result in the loss of the right to admission and/or upgradation in the subsequent list(s).
- To be considered admitted candidates, individuals must take two crucial steps: (a) deposit the prescribed college fee as per the method given above by the specified due date and (b) report in writing to their respective colleges by the due date. Only those who complete these actions will be considered admitted to the program. Selected candidates shall be given three (03) working days to deposit the prescribed fee after the display of the selection list.
- The candidate will have to pay the remaining fee and other dues after the conclusion of the admission process at the respective college where his/her admission has been finalized. In case of non-payment of the remaining amount, his/her admission will be canceled.
- Second and subsequent selection lists will fill any vacancies through the up-gradation process, which is determined by merit and preference. It's important to note that written requests for retaining status in the previous college shall be allowed to a candidate. However, in that case, he/she will have no further right to upgrade in the subsequent list(s).
