The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has officially introduced a revised Smart Syllabus for Class 11 students appearing in the 2027 annual board examinations.
The updated syllabus will be implemented during the 2026–27 academic session across all nine educational boards in Punjab. It has been developed under the Accelerated Learning Program (ALP), which aims to reduce students' academic workload by removing selected chapters, topics, and exercise questions.
According to an official notification issued on November 6, 2026, the revised syllabus was approved by PECTAA's Academics Committee during its 13th meeting held on November 5.
Major Changes in Class 11 Smart Syllabus 2026–27
The revised syllabus includes changes in several subjects, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Entrepreneurship, English, Urdu, and Islamic Studies.
Some of the major reductions include:

Mathematics: The complete Unit 8, Mathematical Induction and Binomial Theorem, has been removed. Selected topics and exercise questions from Complex Numbers, Matrices and Determinants, and Trigonometric Functions have also been excluded.

Chemistry: Two complete chapters, Basic Separation Techniques and Lab Safety and Practical Skills, have been removed. Selected topics and questions from other chapters have also been reduced.

Physics: Specific topics and exercise questions have been excluded under the revised syllabus.

Biology: Selected topics and questions have been removed to reduce the overall course content.

Computer Science and Entrepreneurship: The authority has identified certain topics and exercise questions that will not be included in the examination syllabus.
Changes have also been made to English, Urdu, and Islamic Studies. Students should consult the official subject-wise documents for the complete list of deleted content.
Updated Pairing Schemes and Model Papers
Along with the reduced syllabus, PECTAA has approved revised paper pairing schemes and model papers for Class 11.
These resources will help students understand the updated examination pattern and prepare according to the revised course requirements.
Teachers and students are advised to use the latest official documents instead of relying on previous syllabus versions and examination patterns.
