Eligibility, Requirements and How to Apply

To apply for this scholarship, candidates must meet certain criteria. The age limit is 26 years, and applicants should have a background in relevant engineering fields such as Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering. A minimum of 16 years of education is required with at least 2.0 CGPA or 55% marks.

Applicants must first apply for admission through the NUST online portal and appear in required tests such as GRE, GAT, GNET, or HAT, as per NUST admission requirements. Only those candidates who meet all criteria and are shortlisted by NUST will be called for an interview at Karachi Shipyard. Final selection is made by Karachi Shipyard based on overall performance.

Scholarship Benefits and Important Conditions

This scholarship is fully funded, covering tuition fee, admission charges, hostel (if applicable), and medical insurance. In addition, selected students will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000, which helps manage living expenses during studies.

However, there are important conditions. After completing the MS degree, selected candidates must serve at Karachi Shipyard for at least 8 years. If a student fails to perform well during the program or leaves the scholarship, they may have to repay the expenses, which can go up to Rs. 1.5 million.
