Scope and Salaries of Media Science Professionals in Pakistan

Media sciences are not very popular among many Pakistani students. However, their scope is wide and opens opportunities of employment for people with different types of skills and interests. In all of the sectors that media science applies you can work as an actor, producer, host, director, writer, editor, graphics designer, videographer, special effects engineer, journalist, anchor, voiceover artist, content producer, and what not!

The amount of money you earn in these fields depends upon the kinds of jobs and roles you are involved in. Typically, in Pakistan people who act or communicate in front of the camera earn great sums of money. Between PKR 100,000 to 500,000 or even more earning is possible per month. In fact, producers, actors, and directors make far more than this.

If you are working in the broadcasting or journalism, you can earn between PKR 60,000 to 200,000 a month. Senior journalist can make even more than PKR 400,000 a month.

People in advertising and public relations also make between PKR 75,000 to 250,000 a month in Pakistan.

Digital media is also offering good avenues to make money. As content creators, page owners, designers etc, Pakistanis earn between PKR 80,000 to 300,000 a month on average. But you can earn far more than this as a digital marketing expert or even as an influencer!

Media Science Education in Pakistan

Most of the media science professions require at least a bachelors degree. After that some roles may require further specializations through masters and PhD, but most depend upon your skills and aptitude to pursue different kinds of media science professions.

If you want to pursue this field you should decide if you want to study a specialization like journalism or film production. If you do not have a specific specialization in mind, you can do a bachelors in media sciences and continue a specialization through masters or a diploma after your bachelors.
