Pakistan has strengthened its presence in global higher education rankings, with 18 universities securing positions in the QS World University Rankings 2027. Among them, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) emerged as the country's highest-ranked institution, achieving a joint 381st position worldwide.
The latest edition of the prestigious rankings evaluated 1,504 universities from across the globe, reflecting increasing competition among higher education institutions worldwide.
QAU Leads Pakistani Universities
According to the QS World University Rankings 2027, Quaid-i-Azam University topped the national rankings, followed closely by the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) at 384th place. The Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) secured a joint 560th position globally.
Other Pakistani universities featured in the rankings include the University of the Punjab, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), COMSATS University Islamabad, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Government College University Faisalabad, and University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore.
