The federal government has allocated more than Rs. 3.78 billion in the Budget 2026-27 for the construction of four new Danish Schools in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), aiming to improve access to quality education in remote and underserved areas.
According to budget documents, the new schools will be established in Bagh, Bhimber, Neelum, and Haveli Kahuta, providing modern educational facilities and learning opportunities to students living in far-flung regions.
The allocated funds include:
- Rs. 514.5 million for the Danish School in Hari Gehal, Bagh
- Rs. 600 million for the Danish School in Bhimber
- Rs. 1.558 billion for the Danish School in Sharda, Neelum
- Rs. 1.109 billion for the Danish School in Haveli Kahuta
Government officials said the project is part of a broader effort to strengthen the education sector and ensure that students from disadvantaged and remote communities have access to high-quality schooling.
Danish Schools are known for providing free education, boarding facilities, and modern learning resources to talented students from low-income families. The new institutions are expected to help reduce educational disparities and create better academic opportunities for youth across Azad Kashmir.
Officials added that investing in education remains a key priority of the federal government's development strategy, with a focus on improving human capital and supporting long-term socio-economic growth in the region.
The establishment of these four Danish Schools is expected to benefit thousands of students and contribute significantly to educational development in AJK.
