The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has officially announced the schedule for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 through a public notice issued on Monday.
According to the official announcement, the MDCAT 2026 examination will be conducted nationwide on Sunday, August 16, 2026. The entrance test is mandatory for students seeking admission to MBBS and BDS programs in public and private medical and dental colleges across Pakistan.
The council stated that the MDCAT 2026 paper will be prepared according to the same curriculum and syllabus issued for MDCAT 2025. This means students can continue their preparation using the existing syllabus guidelines already available to candidates and institutions.
The announcement has brought clarity for thousands of pre-medical students awaiting the examination schedule, especially at a time when admissions preparations are beginning in universities and medical colleges throughout the country.
Officials said the examination will be conducted simultaneously across Pakistan under a centralized system to ensure transparency and uniformity in the admission process. Detailed information regarding registration dates, application procedures, admit cards, examination centers, paper pattern, and other instructions is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
The PMDC also advised students, parents, and educational institutions to regularly visit the official website of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council for the latest updates and official notifications regarding MDCAT 2026.
The public notice was issued by the registrar of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council from Islamabad.
MDCAT is considered one of the most competitive entrance examinations in Pakistan, with lakhs of students appearing every year to secure limited seats in medical and dental colleges. The test plays a crucial role in determining merit for admissions in both government and private sector institutions.
