The School Education and Literacy Department Sindh has officially announced summer vacations for schools across the province due to rising temperatures and extreme weather conditions.
According to the notification issued by the department, all public and private schools in Sindh will remain closed for summer holidays from June 1 to July 31. Educational activities will resume from August 1 after the two-month break.
Officials stated that the decision has been taken to protect students, teachers, and school staff from the intense heatwave currently affecting different parts of Pakistan. The order applies to all government and private educational institutions operating under the provincial education department.
The announcement comes as temperatures continue to rise in many cities of Sindh, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and other districts where hot and dry weather conditions have been reported.
Meanwhile, the Government of Punjab has also announced extended summer vacations for schools in Punjab. The move by both provinces reflects growing concerns over student safety during the ongoing heatwave season.
