The Sindh Education Department has introduced a new facial recognition attendance system for all teaching and non-teaching staff working in government schools across the province. The new system aims to improve attendance monitoring and ensure regular presence of employees in schools.
According to the Education Department, the registration process for teachers and other school employees will take place during June and July. During this period, all staff members are required to complete their facial recognition registration.
Starting from August, employees will no longer use traditional attendance methods. Instead, they will have to mark their daily check-in and check-out attendance through the new digital system using facial recognition technology.
Officials have warned that employees who fail to complete their registration within the given deadline may face serious consequences. The department has stated that salaries of unregistered employees could be stopped until they complete the required process.
The new attendance system will also be connected directly with the AG Sindh Treasury, allowing attendance records to be linked with salary payments. This integration is expected to make the salary process more transparent and ensure that only regular employees receive full payments.
Under the new rules, more than two leaves taken in a month will be treated as additional leave. The department has also announced that salary deductions will be made automatically in cases of late arrival, absence, or failure to comply with attendance requirements.
Education officials say the system has been introduced to improve discipline, reduce absenteeism, and ensure that teachers and staff remain available in schools during working hours.
The Sindh Education Department has advised all teaching and non-teaching employees to complete their facial recognition registration on time and maintain regular attendance to avoid salary deductions and other administrative actions.
